Incorporated the latest Prusa MK4 3D printer into the studio
Date:
April 2023
Description:
3D printing isn't changing but it is getting better and better. With the release of the Prusa MK4 the new Prusa flagship printer has proven it's capabilities. We are very fond of Prusa's open-source, right to repair, privacy, customer service and policies and choosing the MK4 as our current work printer was a no brainer compared to others on the market.

Description:
The most crucial component of a successful concept is the essential vision on which it is based upon. Like the foundation of a building or the center point of a circle, the essence of a design is where it all starts. Without it, the endeavor does not have a destination.
At the root of the essence is where Art in Industry thrives

Visualizing electro-magnetic toroidal fields
Date:
February 2023
Description:
If I can design it, I can understand it. Electro-magnetic toroidal fields are a mystery for me and I've always been fascinated by its physics. By modelling and programming these animations in Rhino Grasshopper I'm learning to understand how these behave and how to make use of these in the design processes of a project.

Procedural design in Rhino Grasshopper
Date:
June 2018
Description:
In order to achieve more complex 3D designs, automate repetitive design work and push the boundaries of defining form in 3D software I've taken the time to incorporate visual programming into my workflow.
Once the switch from intuitive draftsmanship to programming was made a huge set of design possibilities opened up.

Large dataset visualization with Excel, Grasshopper en 3D modeling
Date:
March 2020
Description:
Large projects generate large datasets. Parts lists, calculations, structures, inputs and outputs, planning, these are all organizational tools that ensure proper overview of each project. Most people intuitively understand visual information better than lists of numbers and texts. This is why data visualization is a essential communication tool for us.
Description:
Mycelium is the root network of mushrooms. These can break down all sorts of organic and inorganic matter and consume this as food. Miles of microscopic strands excrete metabolites that digest the external environment. By teaming up with this omnipresent organism I can turn waste products into food and materials to build things with.

Description:
Since 2011 I've been following the trends and developments of 3D printing. Making use of this technique in rapid prototyping, sandcasting, concept design and experimentation. 3D Printing still has its limits but it has proven to be a very convenient tool transferring designs from the digital into reality.

Description:
The cost of CAD/CAM Manufacturing has gone down since more companies have automated their data processing into online portals and have specialized in CNC manufacturing services. As a designer you now have access to these manufacturing technologies by uploading 3D files. These production methods are now within reach of any designer.

Live in nature, learn from nature
Date:
April 2017
Description:
I started learning 3D rendering in order to visualize interior and product design projects for my clients. When I first rendered these old renders I was amazed how realistic they looked compared to hand drawn sketches and screenshots from software. 3D rendering has gotten to an entire new level and visualization as never been more tangible as it is today.

Imagine having an entire team of concept artists at your disposal. Now you are the art director and can explore ideas and concepts with astonishing momentum. AI tools like Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, CrAIon and more enable everyone to rapidly visualize conceptual ideas and iterate on those visualizations to express and communicate their ideas faster and better.

Description:
We think in images, symbols communicate a multitude of meaning in one single gesture. A design without a meaning is like art without a soul. It does not solve a problem and it does not fulfill a function. The beholder projects an interpretation on the perceived symbol. Therefore the meaning of a symbol is only limited by the knowledge and experiences of the perceiver and the culture they live in.
