While programming the particle animations for the Windhexe project I accidentally stumbled on this geometric phenomena that emerges when you create a toroidal coil with a secondary winding interval of 137.5 degrees.
When you divide the total length of this wire by a integer patterns emerge at key intervals that correspond with musical intervals.
Trying to mathematically explain why these patterns appear at these intervals led me down a rabbit hole of other emergent factors and small realizations I could not find published anywhere yet. Currently I'm working on an extensive video that explains how this model is created from a to z, how these patterns emerge by the simple act of frequency modulation alone, and what other correlations and implications can be derived from this model.
